Digidesign Introduces ICON Exchange Program
Digidesign® ProControl® and Control|24™ control surface owners can now exchange up to ICON D-Control™ and D-Command™ worksurfaces to experience the power of a truly integrated console environment. ProControl owners with Fader Packs or Edit Packs can exchange those add-ons in addition to the ProControl Main Unit for an even greater exchange value. Fader Packs can also be exchanged separately for savings on a D-Control Fader Module. Control|24 units are only eligible for D-Command exchanges.

Great, I just unpacked a brand new Control24.

The exchanges are pretty good. I think you get about $5000 for a Control 24 to a D-Command.

Well, I think C24s are selling on ebay for about the price of the exchange without the hassle of shipping to a buyer etc. I know the D-Command isn't cheap, but if you've never seen one in action, you haven't seen one of the most powerful control surfaces on the market IMO, and I work on a Euphonix System 5 most of the time. This thing has so many features and is so well integrated with Pro Tools it's ridiculous. Once you master it, you'll have so much creative control and be able to work so fast that you'll look like a genius to your clients (even if you aren't one ) and I'm not kidding. Trust me, I'll be trading in my Pro Control for one after the dust settles a little.

Additional Fader Packs? Welcome to eBay. Edit Pack? Welcome to Ebay. Want to trade 16 channels for a Dcomm main? I bet you would, but ... nope.

I'll sell the stuff before I'd participate in "the exchange." Unless of course, current used prices plummet due to ProCon being on the "outs."
