Default PT Driving me nuts!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love pro tools and it is 99% reliable but have I come across a bug or am I missing something?

I am transfer audio (16tracks) to pro tools (6.4) from a Yamaha AW4416 via adat.
Synced the two up ok and transferred 8 tracks at a time.
When the transfer had finished all tracks were now in pro tools in sync and it played back fine. That was last night.
Today I open up the session only to be greeted with the following message:

‘Some regions were removed from the region list because they referred to files which were too short’.

I click ok and my session opens with all my tracks and no audio at all!
I don’t understand why it goes on about regions being too short. These are complete tracks, 16 tracks all over 5 minutes long!

So I go to import audio to track, select all my audio and import. Not only do I end up with duplication which I have to sift through and delete but everything is out of sync.
A right bloody mess.

I have had the same problem occur on all other audio transferred from the AW4416 and it is driving me nuts.

Is it me or pro tools? Any advice really appreciated,

Have you checked outside of ptle to see if the audiofiles are there?

Did you save the sessions after you transferred the audio?

Yeah I saved the session, all my tracks with thier names are there: guitar, vox 1, vox 2 etc but no audio in the session.
The audio files are in the audio folder but not in the session which is where they were when I saved it. This is only happening when I transfer files from AW4416. If I transfer audio from another device such as an Adat this problem does not happen. Very odd.

This has been a major problem ever since v6 came out.
It seems to have been fixed with v6.4 with ALL the CS updates.
I hope you kept an original imort copy of the session (as it was when it worked).
You also need to clean out all those temp files before loading your session.

Good luck

Try creating a new session, and import the files into the new session. Use spot-mode to place them on their original position

Assuming that the tracks(once in PT) do not start at 0:00:00, highlight and consolidate each track back to 0:00:00. That solved the problem for me.

Hi,

Try downloading Pro Tools LE 6.4cs9. You can get it here . This problem was resolved in a earlier cs release but you may as well grab the latest one all of the fixes are cumulative.
Thanks,
