Default DAE Error -9035 Help!

Hello!

I have a session that I've been recording and playing back from for a month now with no problems. One day out of the blue, after the session was loaded, I hit the play button and got the DAE Error -9035! I went to answerbase and searched the DUC and tried eveything that was suggested short of reformating the drive. I also tried importing the session data into a new session with no luck and also consolidated every track from the zero time line and imported all the audio files into a new session with no luck. I have changed the name and shorted the number of characters but that did't help either. Every other session is loading, playing and recording fine, this is the ONLY session that's giving me problems. Any help would be apprecaited! Thanks!

Hi,

There is a 31-character limit for all Pro Tools file names. Trying to open Pro Tools files with names longer than 31 characters will result in a DAE error -9035. Or illegal characters like / or ^. This include names in the session’s path like the drive or folder.

This error can occur when the hard drive being used for audio is near capacity.

Backup and reinitialize the drive, free up some space and defragment the drive, or use another hard drive instead.

Does this sound like it could apply to you?

Let us know,

Thanks.

The 31-character limit doesn't just apply to ProTools files, but also folders and drive names. I had a complete dead-in-the-water experience because the FW drive name was too long. I shortened the name and all was well.

Please check out Pro Tools 6.4cs5 and let us know if this does not solve the problem.
