URGENT PROBLEM!!
Please Please Please help me out. I'm in extreme need for some help FAST. I have a drum template file that I created that I use at the beginning of all sessions that I open before tracking. I then rename the session for whatever song the band is going to be doing. I accidently put the session in my main folder that says "Pro Tools Sessions"...but that folder has subfolders that has a specific folder for each song...and each folder contains a folder called Audio Files for the audio files for that particular song...OKAY, I must not have been thinking and I know that I saved the session to the main folder (only the session shows up) but I don't know where the audio files were being saved to. My guess was that they were being saved to the original folder I had my drum template it...NOPE. I also thought that maybe they would have created a folder called "Audio Files" within the folder I put the session...nope. When I open the session, I get a message saying the audio files couldn't be found. When it automatically searches for them to be re-linked, they can't be found. When I manually search for them, I can't find them. I searched with Spotlight and they seem to be nowhere. Are they nowhere or are they somewhere? We just spent an 8 hour day tracking a song that FINALLY got perfect. If I lost this song, the band will literally kill me. PLEASE please help me out. Thanks

Re: URGENT PROBLEM!!
In the audio regions bin, select "Show full pathnames", and expand the width of this window so you can read the entire pathname. Now you'll know exactly where they are.

Re: URGENT PROBLEM!!
It doesn't find them. That's what I'm saying. It knows where they SHOULD be, but they're not there. I have no idea why.

Re: URGENT PROBLEM!!
Yikes... Well, if you were recording and playing back, they were written to a some drive somewhere. Did you have an external drive attached during tracking that is no longer connected? What does Disk Allocation tell you?

Re: URGENT PROBLEM!!
It doesn't make any sense...Disk Allocation tells me they should be in a folder called "Drums: Audio Files"...This is where my template was originally...however, they aren't in there..but I saved the sessioon in a different folder...the session opens...It created a folder called "Audio Files" in this main folder, but nothing is in the folder at all! I'm so lost, I hope I haven't lost this.

Re: URGENT PROBLEM!!
rock,
with the template did you immediately 'save as' a project--that would create a neat folder with the proj. and audio files in one place. My fear is that you may have saved a template (sans audio files) rather than saved as a project. Otherwise--if you use a template I guess the drum track names don't change except for take # and project prefix. Document the exact names of the missing tracks. A full manual search may turn up duplicate take #'s with different lengths in the same audio file folder. That would be the one you're looking for. best wishes, MR

Re: URGENT PROBLEM!!
It tells me the names of the files it's looking for...it shows them in italics...But they aren't on my computer anywhere...If I search in spotlight, they don't exist. If I search by date created, it doesn't bring up anything with the right length. I need help fast! I really hope these aren't gone.

Re: URGENT PROBLEM!!
you probably did this already but, when I use templates it sometimes creates an Audio Files folder in the system drive (did you look there?)
