Punch Bug

Ya know what bug I really hate that's been here forever? When you punch in, it's recording the new stuff, but somehow it's still monitoring the old stuff. Doesn't happen often, but enough that it's quite annoying. And no matter what you say to the client, they always think it's your fault and you're lying haha.

Can this please be fixed? I've at least seen this since PT7.

Yeah, I HATE that one. I've seen it time or two here and there, and it drives me crazy!! One producer I work with says he sees it 'once every record, at some point' and it really makes the operator look like a dumb ass!

Ditto to what has been said.

I've seen it at my studio and at other studios. Hard to duplicate. The worse is when the vocalist is in a booth that you can't see and you don't notice it until about 10-15 seconds into the take of them complaining about it.

Exactly!!! And trying to explain it only makes it worse!! ff

I've seen it once or twice with quickpunch. I know for a fact that I used QP the last time at least. The funny thing the last time was that while the singer really put her heart into it, all we heard was pitchy vocals and swearing from the previous take. Surreal...

Same here: once, maybe twice per record... been around since 7.2 for me (on 8.0.1cs2 now). Interestingly, the comment I get most from talent is, "Wow, that's still around? Why haven't they fixed it?" Wish I had an answer to give 'em......
