Default Pro Tool 7.2 with older MIX TDM system

does it work? Or do I have to stick with pro tools 6.x I am thinking of getting a used MIX system off ebay or just getting Nuendo/RME combo. What do you guys think, does pro tools 7+ work with the older TDM systems?

The answer is no. The last version of PT that runs on MixPlus is 6.4.1

lol, no there are a few features in PT7 that I really need that are not in 6, Nuendo does have these features. I have Mpowered right now with musicians toolkit and A feel like keep hitting a wall. So I had thought about an TDM system but I am not ready to drop 10gs on a HD rig but 3-4 thousand on a mix rig I could do. About the same as I would spend on Nuendo with a ok Ad/da convertor.

Ease of use obviously not a factor. I hope you already know nuendo and not pro tools.

I'd rather use a mix system on 5.1 than HD.

what features?

I know both Nuendo and Pro tools. and I will continue to use both. I really need the loops/rex feature, the midi and instrument features. Why do you like the mix systems better?

There is one very important feature in Nuendo that I wish Pro Tools would implement. You can save all the mixer settings to a file. That way, if you have several songs tracked in the same manner, you can just load the mixer settings and you've got the same mix setup for every song! Saves all the plugins, settings, levels etc.
However, if I toot the Neundo horn, Digi will erase my post. Email me directly if you need more info.
