Hi,

Just to elaborate on this! drag from itunes to your desktop then drag and drop in to PT.

Songs purchased from the iTunes store are locked Mp4.
The way I found is to Back Up To Disc which will convert to AIFF then import from the disc.
Maybe I'm going the long way around for this but that's only for the purchased files.

I use a TOS LINK cable from my G5's optical output to the optical input on the 192. So as long as my sessions are 48k or less, I can play iTunes directly into ProTools.

Unprotected Files
CONTROL CLICK on the song title. Choose SHOW IN FINDER Either DRAG from there into PT or CONTROL CLICK and OPEN WITH.... Protools.

Protected Files. (Purchased from Itunes store)
And I am happy to say, on the MACBOOK or MACPRO it works FASTER than burning to DISK and it leaves you without a disk to trash.

IMOVIE HD. Open. Drag protected song. ADD one Photo from your i photo library. (any desktop photo in the apple DESKTOP library)

PLace song in Imovie Track
Place Picture in iMovie

EXPORT FULL QUALITY (Quicktime)

This creates a 48k/16bit QT which you can import the audio into PT.

the only other way I know of is to BURN to disk and import it back in.

smlworld, that's very clever! Unfortunately the IT department didn't put iMovie on this computer.

I've been using

It is. It records the output of the audio driver, so anything you can hear out the speakers can be recorded, including web audio in your browser, WMA or WMV audio played through WMP etc. The recording is a new file, not a stripped copy of the old one, which means all audio takes real time to create.

It has bailed me out several times when dealing with creative types who don't understand computers that well.
