Default Is there a way to link track select and track focus?

Maybe I'm missing something obvious. I like track follows edit selection, and I feel it would be more powerful if I could link track selection with track focus.

Select/Focus Mode Switch and Indicators

The Select/Focus Mode switch toggles the function of channel Select switches between Select and Focus mode. In Select mode, channel Select switches are used to select channels in Pro Tools. In Focus mode, channel Select switches are used to focus a channel’s controls on the Focus Channel Strip on the Main Unit.

The LEDs on either side of this switch indicate the current mode.

Uh, yeah, and he wants the option for them to be linked so that selection and focus will happen simultaneously.

I love it when people dont read the question and assume I haven't read the manual. Nice.

I would LOVE this to be added as a pref. For 95% of my workflow it would be the best of both worlds.

Even better would be Touch Focus, like most digital consoles.

If this preference existed what (focus) behavior would you expect if you selected a range of channels either contiguous or not? Just curious...

Good question! Perhaps just the first one in the selection gets (or remains) focused.

Maybe the last selection button hit stays in focus. So, if I select 1-8 channels, then hit channel 2 select button. channel 2 goes into focus but the range stays selected. If you want to deselect the range, just command + select the range and that channel is removed from the selected range or hit the select button outside of the range. How does that sound?
Best,
Brandon
