ADAT Out as Monitor Path
Hello everyone,
I don't have a Carbon on hand at the moment so I can't do a test myself. I'm currently working on a new Atmos configuration for a studio that would like to use the Carbon for both recording and immersive mixing. As you know, the Carbon currently only supports 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 immersive formats. The idea would be to use the ADAT outputs to feed a monitoring controller supporting 7.1.4 or higher. The question is: can we use the ADAT outputs as a Monitor Path and keep the functionality of the Hybrid Engine? Thanks for you feedback |

Re: ADAT Out as Monitor Path
I was finally able to carry out some tests today with a Carbon and several ADAT-connected devices.
Everything worked perfectly! The goal was to test a configuration with a Carbon and an Audient Oria to manage stereo and Atmos monitoring, both connected via ADAT. The result is a truly flexible system that combines the benefits of the Carbon (32 Bits, 8 preamps controllable in Pro Tools, latency-free monitoring thanks to the Hybrid Engine) with the advantages of the Oria (Atmos monitoring, AES outputs, Sonarwork integration). I'd recommend this solution to anyone looking for a good configuration for managing both recording musicians and Atmos mixes. |
