Default Hardware mixer like HD OMNI to 'pass through' with Carbon?

On my old HD OMNI, there was a mixer in the 'Hardware' page that would allow you to take the SPDIF input and pass it straight through to the monitors.

When I would record arm a track with the same SPDIF input, it would cut the 'pass through' to the monitors, so you didn't hear the same signal twice at the same time.
Great feature. It also meant that you didn't need to power up Protools and put a channel into input to listen to YouTube or whatevs...it just got passed through to the monitors without Protools.

Is there a way or trick to do this with Carbon?

You can just use the Carbon Core audio Driver to route all system sound through the carbon to your monitors.

So is there a switch that cuts that 'through' audio when I record arm a track with the same input?

Cheers

Nope not if feeding the output of something else into the Core Audio driver. They are entirely separate audio apps sending output to an interface.

If you think you need some control within Pro Tools of this you have the Aux IO/Avid bridge that you can also to route external app audio.
