Default Trip (& fall) down memory lane

Remember the old PTLE problem where you couldn't get the song to record, or even play? You hit record/play and the two buttons just blink on and off but the song never starts.

I have it again! I don't know why, all I know is that I installed an 11R with my Digi002 running 8.05, and now I really CAN'T even get a song to play.

When I hit the play button the STOP button blinks once and the song goes nowhere. Even on a brand new session I just loaded.

I turned off loop recording, made sure no regions are selected, did RTZ. - nothing.

Shot in the dark, but make sure Wait for Midi Note is not selected on the transport buttons, and I seem to remember IE causing troubles, but I don't remember which version(IE8, I think). If none of that helps, maybe more info is needed. Stroll down this memory....Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!

Also, Delete your prefs and databases. Go to the Trasher link in my signature and get Version 2 for PT 8.05

You were right - it was "wait for note." Sorry, it was one of those cases where I thought I had already cleared that, but in switching around between songs (I changed a buffer setting on a different track and got it to work) I went back to the previous song and I guess I had not saved the setting.

Working now, I can record - but I am reaching the edge of my CPU power. I see a computer upgrade coming.

Now I am getting very distorted audio when I try to play (probably a buffer setting).

ProTools is GREAT!!!!

Until you try to change something in your setup - then you never know what will happen. Now I have 11R, so I am locked in. Time to start shopping for Mobos, i7, RAM, etc.
