PT and PT First on same machine?
I want to create a new Avid account and install Pro Tools First on a laptop which already has Pro Tools standard installed on it; do I need to take any precautions to not corrupt my existing Pro Tools install?

To experiment with some collaboration platforms (non-Avid, as well as Avid) as two PT users, between PT First and regular PT (on another machine)... but also just to have a working PT First install.

I would urge you to try this on a new boot partition at least.
PTF is so incredibly bad that I would be scared to put it on my working professional system. Read the threads in the Pro Tools First forum of the DUC to see what you're getting yourself into.

I created a Restore Point at least.... that sounds like the way to go, though.
