Default Waves V12: WLM Loudness Meter

i recently upgraded from Waves version 11 -> 12. i have noticed that when using the WLM plugin via AudioSuite in Pro Tools, the WLM GUI no longer shows the loudness value during and then after the scan (after AudioSuite render). the only way to see the final loudness value is to examine the CSV log file that WLM pushes out after the scan. this is definitely a change from previous versions of WLM, where you would see the loudness value during and after the scan in the WLM GUI. i have tested this using both stereo and 5.1 audio media (see attached screenshot).

i have 2 machines, both running PT 2020.12:
Mac Pro 2013: macOS 10.14.6
MacBook Pro 2016: macOS 10.15.7

i am only seeing this behavior on the macOS 10.14.6 machine. i have tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling the latest version of Waves V12, but the problem persists.

can anyone running Waves V12 on macOS 10.14.6 corroborate this issue?

thanks

Good question for Waves.

Can’t you still use V11 installes? (Legacy)
While this gets fixed.

I haven’t the need to WUP-all so I mostly remain at v11.

i have an open support case with Waves about this. just wanted to get some corroborative evidence here if possible.

i did a complete un-install of V10/V11/V12 then re-install of V12. would rather not roll back unless absolutely necessary.

thanks

It seems that Waves is having a look at all their GUIs now, since they're not scaling up as well as they should. It could be that the WLM UI issue might get addressed when they update it's graphics. Maybe.

i am now seeing this same behavior with Waves WLM on multiple machines running macOS 10.14.x, 10.15.x, and 11.x.

as discussed earlier in this thread, i have an open support case with Waves on this issue. they have now acknowledged that this known bug with WLM version 12 and is slated to be fixed in a future update.

hope this helps. thanks.

Seeing the same here, PT 2021.6, Waves 12.7.0.209, can't render a value on a file that's already made, I have to bounce it and measure at the same time.

Zuurk, the faster workaround is to save the WLM output to a CSV log by clicking "Export CSV" on the bottom right of the WLM GUI and choose "Select Off-Line CSV File".
do this before your scan, then run the scan, then close the plug-in window (very important, or else the CSV will not save), then open the CSV. the last value all of the way at the bottom of the log is your final loudness value. see attached screenshot.

hope this helps.

Well that's some good news. It's the sound of "future update" that sounds a little unnerving.

At least Devinemke's Export CSV workaround can help us to get by until then.
