I would make an image backup of your drive using something like Carbon Copy Cloner first.

Then format the drive and install the OS (use a compatible previous version if you want) and then install Protools 2020.12. Check that everything is working properly. Start installing any 3rd party plugins and test each time.

If you have other applications on that computer, reinstall those and restore your data files.

I know this is tedious and time consuming, but you asked for the best way to roll back/reset.

If you prudently saved all your installers to a safe place then it shouldn't take weeks or even a week. Maybe a day or two at the longest. Been there/done that before.

Its not just about installing .... It's also about presets, tweaks, labels etc ... would definitely not hurt to wait for the next update to install it over since I just renewed my support plan and I am working on Logic in the meantime

Do you have a working clone you can go back to? You should. Always make a clone then disconnect it from the computer BEFORE making changes. That way you can go back in time. I keep my clone drive right next to the computer disconnected and ready to go. 15 minutes to make the clone. Done and safe.

But seeing as not a whole lot of people are seeing it I wouldn't hold out hope of a quick fix. You would think I'd see it being as how I'm running on an unsupported OSX (10.13.6) with all different developer's wares and no problem.

Guysssss I sorted it out .... Try switching to Light Mode in Big Sur instead of Dark Mode and Reduce Transparency and Motion in Accessibility Options Display in Settings and you're good to go !! Avid might wanna check this up though

On Mac Pro 2019 with Radeon Pro 580x, Catalina 15.7 and PT 2021.3 I don’t have this bug.

Hope it can help making a specs comparison.

It still happens in traditional mode. But it’s not that bad. I’ll give the other setting you mention a try.
