Mbox 2, \"Pro-tools has closed unexpectedly\"
Hi, I'm running an MBox 2 with an intel macbook 1.83 core duo with 2gb of kingston ram. I have osx 10.4.8 and PTLE 7.1.1cs.
It is horribly unstable. I occasionally get pops/clicks etc, but more often than not, protools just decides to quit every 40 minutes or so. I have played around with the playback engine settings to no avail. Any ideas? I'm getting extremely frustrated! Thanks for your time. |

Re: Mbox 2, \"Pro-tools has closed unexpectedly\"
Are you recording to an external drive?
Also, check to see if you have the correct version of plugs. See: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...n=news_details

Re: Mbox 2, \"Pro-tools has closed unexpectedly\"
Thanks for your reply!
I've had a look through that plug-in list and everything seems to be up to date/compatible, but good suggestion anyway! I'm running a Lacie D2 firewire 400 as my audio drive. I've noticed that things become much more unstable if I have processer hungry plug-ins running, such as toontrack EZ-Drummer (which is up to date) or multiple 7-band EQ3s running on separate tracks. This is strange as the processor can be peaking at less than 30% of its maximum. I've tried this with both processors and a single processor and experience the same problems. I have two gigs of (Apple approved) Kingston KTA-mb667/1g... I really am stumped with this one... Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. |

Re: Mbox 2, \"Pro-tools has closed unexpectedly\"
Sorry to bump my own thread, but protools is extremely unstable and its incredibly frustrating.
Has anyone got any idea why? Audio is streaming fine of the external lacie D2 fine. Problems only seem to occur when I use processor hungry plug-ins, so I guess it has something to do with pro-tools and mac-intel setups. Ok, another question that someone may be able to answer: Is PT 7.1.1cs 100% compatible with intel core duo (not core2duo) processors? Thanks for your time, Hopefully you can help me have my first stable session! |
