Fresh install on M1, so just the new user mode (DriverKit) drivers. It sounds like there are known USB issues so I'll wait for 12.1...

Snow Leopard was the GOAT. Would be nice if they did something like that again.

Yes, OSX 10.6.8 & PT 8.1.1, most stable combination ever.

Are there other issues with monterey I am not aware of? I have complete stability on my end, of course I don't expect everyone to have the same results.

The only plugins I have no that don't work are Billy Decker Bus Glue. But that should be resolved fairly soon. I think.
Interesting on the Complete Bundle working via TM restore. That's the first I heard of that.

I was experiencing the out of memory notices rather regularly on my new M1 Pro MBP. After I ferreted out most of the Intel background apps/processes that came over from my TM restore of the old laptop, I have not had one memory issue in two weeks. So my unscientific conclusion would be that the memory leaks somehow involve Rosetta 2.

The old laptop was NOT running PT, so no Avid Complete Bundle to bring over from that TM restore.

Well, these are difficult times for our software designer friends.
I'm still on intel Macs. Every OS after Catalina was for the new Apple silicon.
So logically I am still on Catalina on my newest machines and Mojave on my older machines. No problems.
I am hoping that Avid has this stuff figured out by the middle of next year.
I am planning on buying a new Apple 16" MBP M1max.
I mostly do TV show work and I need my gear to work flawlessly.

Anyone else unable to install Falcon 2.5.3 as part of the 2021.12 install? The install walks through all the steps and says installed. Then avid link immediately goes back to showing it as not installed.

I’ve had the same issue since the last .10 update. Since I don’t use it, I’ve not been really concerned but yeah, it’s always there wanting to be installed.

There have been myriad valuable features added since V8 (removal of the 4GB RAM ceiling was intensely beneficial), so it's a trade-off. A Fostex 4-track recorder is incredibly stable, or those little Roland 8-track digital boxes from the 90's (the VS880 -- remember how cool they were at the time), but not exactly "better."

Not knocking this approach - I've done the same myself in the past - but I honestly think I've saved thousands of hours using the offline "commit" and "bounce" features.
