Default A cappella note detection Tips

Hi,

I'm after some advice/ideas/tip/tricks about detecting notes/key to a vocal wav file that has been given to me for accompaniment.

Is there an easy process I can use in Protools?

Any tips/tricks would be appreciated

Thanks

G

Knowing what version of Pro Tools you are using would be helpful.

Melodyne will do note and chord detection depending on which version you have for both Pro Tools and Melodyne.

Melodyne Essential comes free with a current Pro Tools subscription or Support Plan.

Essential will not detect chords but it will tell you the single notes of a melody. You can upgrade to Editor or Studio for more powerful tools. Did you try it?
