Default Mackie HUI for PT6.x

Hi there,

I'm considering buying a used Mackie HUI for ProTools control. Has anyone tried using it with ProTools 6.4, 6.7 or 6.9? The reviews I read were mentioning it was designed for a high level of compatibility with ProTools 4.x, but I don't know if it still has the same level of compatibility with the new versions of PT.

Thanks,
Arya

they work, most are getting a little long in the tooth and have developed problems but if it's cheap the do work.

the analog section sucks

I have seen fades fail (die)
some units develop grounding problems and the faders don't respond to being touched w/o a alternate ground reference.

Six/seven months ago i bought a used mackie controller and im truly in love with it

It does take a while to get used to the way of navigating the mixer, but now its a
breeze. I couldn't see my self doing anything without it (except for making coffee perhaps )
It has change my way of working a mix - for the better i think.

Im running PT6.9.2 and Tiger and up until now i havn't had any problems with it - none
what so ever.

best wishes

We have several, they still have better integration than the current breed of control surfaces (excluding the C24 and ProControl), are bult better, have better quality faders and encoders.
Don't know why some had trouble with them but everyone (or facility) I know that purchased a HUI still uses it, and they have been trouble free.
Things that emulate the HUI don't have the ability to control all the aspects of PT that the HUI does, even the C8 has less control than the HUI and it's a Digi product.
As long as Digi supports the HUI protocol the HUI will work with the newer versions as they come out.
