Default ProTools12 wont import video.
Hey, I just purchased ProTools 12 the other day. I got it all up and running and now when i try importing my .ptx file of a project from school(we use macs there I have PC if that helps) The .mov will not import in and just stays a pink blank box where the video is. I get the message saying "The session contains media that is not supported possibly due to a missing CODEC." I have updated quicktime. Didnt help. I looked in the manager to make sure the CODEC thing was up to date. Didnt help. A kid in class told me something about I need to email AVID and ask for an earlier patch or something so that video will work because this newest one is bugged?

Have you installed the avid QuickTime codecs? They are a seperate installer.

Default ProTools12 wont import video.
What's exactly inside the mov container? I ask because in theory it's possible to put codecs in a mov container which QT can't read.

Honestly dude i have no idea. Im new to protools and all this audio editing. All i know is its a .mov and has h.264 LAN at the end of the video name. It works fine on all the Mac's at school. Bring it home, open it on my PC and the video wont work.

the file ends with H.264LAN ?? what happens if you take the LAN off the file name ??

OR - is it referencing a Hard Drive that is offline -with the video file on it (at the school ONLY) ???
