When Avid BF'd all their HD users for the HD9 to HD10 upgrade I sold my HD9 for $350 and bought HD10 for $675. My "upgrade" price was $325 instead of $1000.

The new pricing is better by 40%, so not worth it to me to not upgrade for real this time, but you can definitely buy HD10 for $700 on eBay.
