Sup yall,
I' using an E-mu XBoard 25 and I' wondering how can I assign different samples (for example kick, snare, hi hats...) to each key, so that I could play it as a sort of "drum-machine pads"...please, any help?? H3d

It was my understanding that the xboard 25 was just a controller. What are you using for a sound module/sampler? Assigning the samples to keys is usually done at the sampler, not the controller.

Most of the samples that come with Kontakt are already mapped out to specific keys, drum samples especially. If you're loading pre-made drums samples most (but not all) of them follow the MIDI GM key assignments (for example, see this chart )
If all you want to do is play, I recommend the pre-made samples; they're already mapped for you and you don't have to do so much work. Kontakt comes with quite a few, but one of my favorite free ones is the FREE NSKit from natural studios. Kontakt will load Battery kit maps, so if you download the wav files and the battery map from that page you've got a full drumkit in Kontakt, already mapped to specific keys. If on the other hand, you are trying to build your own samples, then that is really a lot more complex. Assigning samples to a key in Kontakt is covered pretty extensively in the Kontakt manual (starting on page 54 to be exact). Learning how to use Kontakt might be a topic best suited for the Native Instrument/Kontakt forums though.

I like my samsons, but I couldn't compare them to the KRK's as I have no personal experience with those.
My samsons aren't exactly "flat" and took a little getting used to, but once I got comfortable with them I really like them. For the price, I think they're great. Please don't just go on my advice though; go and listen to them both (a bunch of others as well) if you can. It is the only true way to get monitors that you are going to like and work well for your situation.

After unzipping, the Battery Version should load up in Kontakt as long as you've also got the wav files as well.
I'm pretty sure you could even use the Soundfont version, (however, I would recommend the wavs over the SF)

The files that are in the ns_kit7free-bat.zip file download are battery *.kit files. These are what you would load in Kontakt. The wav files must also be present on the hard drive for these kit files to work, but you never have to load the individual wavs, the kit files take care of that. The main drumkit has a filename of ns_kit7free.kit Load that in Kontakt. When you open it, it will probably prompt you with an error message that says "could not find sample" and then give you the option to "find it automatically or locate it manually?". Don't auto locate; press the "Find" button, locate the sample it is asking for in the directory with the wavs you downloaded and select it. It should then prompt you saying "use this path for the remaining samples also?" Click yes to that. You should then have a drumkit mapped roughly to GM standards: C1 = kick drum, D1 = snare, etc etc.
