5.1.1 Delight!!!

Well, I didn't even order it. But I got the upgrade in the mail 2 days ago. I hesitated to install it cause of the fear of having problems or to reinitialize my drive. I at the same time upgraded my Waveshell 3.0 to Waveshell 3.2...BIG STEP!!! Of course I was apprehensive when I finished and restarted my machine.

Much to my delight....It worked properly the first time!!!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

My initial impression, or maybe my imagination, is that the whole interface appears much more fluid and responsive. Meters appear smoother.

I am full of anticipation and delight that it was so easy to upgrade and that Digidesign sent it to me. I am also hopefull I don't run into any unknown problems. Of course it's personal choice to upgrade of not. Have to keep in mind that many generations of software can cause unknown problems. But so far, so good. Mine seems to have a bit more of a "solid" feel. Just watch the "bounce to disk" - it takes a little more CPU horsepower.

Michael, That's great, you've inspired me to perform the upgrade, however, I'll be doing it from the download on the digi site. I hope it goes so well.
Questions:
1. Do you have to reload or reinstall all of your plugins when you upgrade? Should I pull my plugin directory into some temporary space before upgrading?

2.Does the new Wave shell offer any betterments?

Mike, you got yours in the mail? Blasted digi!?!? [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] I guess you bought 5.1 new w/ your 001? I keep forgetting to bring my serial # to work to do the download....waiting for the cd.

5.1.1 automatically updates all digi-rack plug-ins installed in system. At least the version I received does. [img]images/icons/cool.gif[/img]

I'm confused, how did you guys get the update sent to you?
I baught my 001 about 3 months ago with 5.1, registered etc, will they automaticly send me an update too? Cool.
