AAE - 9173 cpu overloads in pt11 vs pt10
Hello,
I've been using Pro Tools version 10 for a few years now, and I really like it (when it works) Anyway, I decided to download the PT 11 free trial since I am using Windows 7 64-bit, hoping to get the most from my system. The crazy thing is, I am getting the AAE- CPU overload message in my session a lot. The same session works fine in Pro Tools 10.3.7 > It is a 24-bit 96kHz session with a few busses and a mastering plug in (izotope). Not the largest session I've ever done, but pretty demanding. I am able to assign only 3 processors in version 10 and 99% usage, but did not see this option in PT11's playback engine menu. I tried checking and unchecking the dynamic plug-in box in 11 as well, and it made no difference. Am I crazy, or shouldn't Avid's new engine work better not worse for memory management and cpu load?! I'm more than likely not going to upgrade at the end of the 30 day trial, I was just wondering if there are any settings or tricks that work in this situation. I have done all of the windows optimizations and tweaks that worked for me in PT10. I have posted the sandra report for my system below. Do me a favor, and only post helpful replies not hater comments about how my ram sucks or I shouldn't have installed PT10 in a partition. PT10 works, PT11 doesn't, I just want know why I'm getting CPU overloads although I suspect it is because the menu won't let me free up one of my 4 processors for background stuff. fyi my audio interface is an E-MU 1212m - pci-e didn't see it on the sandra.
