Default Missing AAX and RTAS in drop down menus

Hello fellow Pro-Tools cohorts,
I have recently installed (3 Times) Pro Tools 10.3.3 on my Mac Pro 2.8 Quad Core running OS 10.6.8 etc. Upon opening PT, the Audio Suite drop down is empty and the insert slots on the channels are also empty except for i/o and no insert with Plug ins greyed out. When I go to the respective folders all loos good with the RTAS in the Library/App Support/Digidesign etc. and the AAX are sitting nicely in the Avid folder.
I have been scouring the forums and on tech support with Avid and i can't figure this one out.
Heres what i've tried so far.
Trashed PT preferences 5 times, Un-installed and Re-installed 3 times, Zapped PRAM, and created new users to install.
Now heres the weird thing, i installed it on my macbook with the same procedure, same OS and it worked fine everything.
Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?
Thanks You in advance!!

Hi,

Very bizarre, but I would do this...

Use the uninstaller and select clean uninstall.
Reboot
Download and install the apple 10.6.8 "combo" updater
Reboot
Reinstall 10.3.3
Repair disk permissions

See what happens

Hey Chris,
Well, I tried this and had very high hopes as i proceeded through the steps.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed, same outcome.
In a conversation with Avid via email I have been told to try and create a new user and jump through some hoops as i do and that process didn't work either. BUT, I might give this another go.

At this point I am astonished that this is even happening and that it has burned a week of my time with late nights and early mornings to this point.

Thanks for your advice Chris I appreciate it and will continue the pursuit and if you have any other ideas i would be glad to try them.

Thanks Again,
ODM,

Sounds like you may have user configuration issues on your computer. Was it an upgrade from Leopard to SL? This happened to me on SL but not for PT. User account didn't see the appropriate files etc.
I recommend a fresh install of the system and possibly only one admin user.

orangedog:
Are you allowing PT to install where the installer wants it to go to? To the os drive? Customs installs can mess things up like this.

I found this very old MacRumors thread:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=492053

It had this solution:
It seemed that the installation disc that I installed supplied old versions that were out of date compared to the lastest PT software i was using, so i just downloaded the latest versions from the digidesign website and that solved the problem.

Could your plugins be old/wrong versions?
It doesn't seem likely as you mention AAX plugins.

Hi Richard,
I wish this was the case. But yeah, it's all of my plug-ins, Waves, Universal Audio, Native Instruments the whole kit and caboodle. No plug ins at all.

My next step is to create a completely new user again and try from scratch.
I did this before to no avail, but i want to try it completely again to be sure i have done it correctly. Last time was late at night and maybe i screwed something up without know it.

Thanks for the suggestion I appreciate it.

Re: Musicman691
Thanks musicman691 for your reply. No, i'm just letting the install go to my home OS drive just where it wants to go each time, no custom location or anything.
It sounds like a problem that could arise from that for sure though huh?
Thanks Again,
ODM

Thx.
