Default I/O Problems

I can't seem to link up to my Audio Files. My volume controls are grayed out on my mix window. Here are a few screen shots that may help in showing what is happening. I would appreciate your input.

I notice on the output screen shot the there is something missing that's on the input screenshot.

Have you got the correct Playback Engine selected? That message usually shows up when it has switched to something else (often the computer inputs).

I agree with PD. Do you have the wrong interface selected? When you start up PT hold down the "N" key. A pop window will come up where you can select your interface.

The correct Playback Engine is selected. I should mention that this problem comes and goes.

Have you deleted all paths from all 3 tabs on your i/o, then on each tab, select "Default" -

This should redo your Hardware i/o, to whatever hardware is attached, recognized, and operating.

if it doesn't - you may need to find the drivers (If you're on ProTools 9) for your Interface, and reInstal them.

I will try that. Stupid question. How do I delete the tabs. This is what it looks like now and it's working.
