using samples from Kurzweil in PTLE

I was told this could be done, but due to my ingnorance of MIDI, it hasn't happened and I've been forced to use Sampletank 2...which is npt so great.

I have some 900 sounds in my Kurzweil K2VX, but the good ones are my third party samples I load into it. Memphis Horns, Real Rhodes etc. it would be incredible if I could get these sounds playing through MIDI and into PTLE! I was able to set up the Kurz through my little midisport interface and use sampletank2/garritan, but that is all I've been able to use MIDI wise. Any help would be greatly appreaciated or even maybe a link to helpful resources.

I am running PTLE 7 with an Mbox1. My new workstation is rock solid (www.terradigitalaudio.com)
there is some slight latency in the midisport-> PTLE chain and I'm wondering if the digi 002/mbox2 pro would be a big improvement due to the fact that MIDI interfaces are already integrated into them

Use Kontakt 2.0 or better to convert. Worked for me perfectly.

I'm not looking to convert. I want to use the Kurzweil Keyboard as a controller

If you want the sounds from the Kurzweil, you'll need to hook it's audio outputs(stereo pair) to your MBox, and simply record it's analog output. Midi cannot transmit audio or sound...just performance information: note on,note off,which note etc. The sound will come from the Kurzweil itself or a software instrument in protools.

I've already done plenty of analog tracking through it. What I'm trying to do here is assign the Kurzweil sounds to the midi data already on the track. I was told it could be done by a long time Kurzweil/PT expert....unfortunately, he is out of town!

Then you need to send midi out of protools into the Kurzweil.....but you still have to bring the analog back into protools from the Kurzweil. Bottom line is the sounds are in the Kurzweil....doesn't matter whether you use a midi track in protools or the Kurzweil to trigger them...the analog sounds can only get into protools via the analog (audio) out of the Kurzweil.
