Create a new session within a long session

Need help creating a new session within a long session of 14 drum tracks with 3 takes of each song.
I want to creat a new session with one of the good takes?

create the new session and import audio from the previous session

OK. I create the new session. then import audio from the long session. How do I import just a segment of the Long session. Just one of the takes with all 14 tracks of drums.

I would like to know if there is a better way - but i "save Session Copy In' - name the folder. this makes a copy of the entire session into a new folder. then i select and delete everything except what i want to keep. Consolodate if the tracks are all segmented - be sure to add crossfades...etc.

Then i go to the region list - right click and 'select unused regions' - then 'clear selected' - it asks if i want to 'remove from session only?' or 'remove from folder - or disk?"

i remove from disc.

then i'm left with a folder that just has the audio data for that session - along with the session all by itself. AND - i also have the original session from which i took it from. Just in case.

Am i on the right track? is this what any of ya'll do?

Thanks for the great feed back. I guess that's the route to take. I'll wait a bit to see if someone resonds with an easier way.
