Just moved to iMac from 15+yrs on PC and am wondering PT 7.4 vs PT8?
Hey, i'm a very long time PC ProTools user thats just moved to iMac
 and keen to get my rig up and running. I had been running PT 7.4 on Windows XP with few issues and from what I remember 7.4 was preferred to 8 in the DUC Windows forums. I have a copy of PT8 that came with my 003 and was considering the upgrade but I was hoping to gather your thoughts first....Any help much appreciated. Cheers Steve

You may not have much choice since your Imac is new and has Snow Leopard. PT8 is compatible with that and 7.4 is not (as far as I know).

Congrats on move to OSX...heaven. Don't be discouraged, everything new to you in computers takes a while to get used to.
