Only 1 channel works on alternate monitor mode

Ever since I got my Digi 001 box and hooked it up, I've noticed that only one channel plays when I am using the alternate monitor setting (the button pushed "in") when not using PTLE. I've tried it with a CD player, a stereo keyboard and numerous other input sources. I've jiggled the cables, switched to different cables and switched cables in each jack and it seems to be definitely Input #4 when I use alt monitor. When I use PTLE (with the monitor button "out"), #4 input works fine. Anyone else ever have this problem? i fear a defective DigiBox and have read about nightmares with the input jacks on the back panel. Anyone from Digidesign care to comment? I've also noticed that the output on the left channel of the stereo outputs is also a few dB louder than the right output. This is a real pain in the arse!

there's ben quite a bit about this actually, it's bad solder joints on the PC board inside the interface. You can either return it to Digidesign inwhich case they may ro may not fix it, or if you have decent soldering tools and skills, open it up and touch up all the points on the pcb to the connectors. If you choose option 2, do ALL the points on all the connectors.

I had the same problem, but kept pushing in and pulling out (uh uh uh ) [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Eventually it kinda "snapped in" and they worked.

Make sure you push it in while playing something you may get it just right and it will work.

If not, Where had the correct answer..
