Default New HD

I need to install a new internal hard drive to my computer. How does this effects my Pro tools system? Do I need a new code to install PT on my new hard drive? Please tell me what I have to do.

Thank's!

If you are adding a new hard drive to an existing one - so that you have TWO drives then all you need to do is format the new HD and use it how you want.

If this new drive is going to be the ONLY drive in your Mac then you'll have to install OSX 10.6X and then install all of your programs and so yes, you'll have to input everything again.

Thus is the practice to 'Clone' your drive (with super duper or something similar) so that if your system goes down, you've always got a back up.....

OK, thank's!

My old HD is broken, so I need to put in a new one to my macbook. How does this effect PT license (codes and all that)?

It doesn't.

Pro Tools is hardware dependent. Be it MBox or iLok. You can install Pro Tools on as many drives or computers as you like, but the hardware ultimately determines whether or not it will launch.
