Default We need fixes for -6031 and -2048!!

Dear Digi....
First let me say that I've been a user and abuser of your products since Sound Designer II and have had my ups and downs with the gear but usually things work out, but now I am asking for your help because I, and others here, have 2 major problems (and it's not the price of Accell cards).
I have a client that needs a QTime bounce of his program (39mins), I cannot do this simple task because I get repeated MIDI Filter error -2048.
I have a client that wants a VHS dub of his short film, I cannot do this simple task because I get repeated -6031 errors that stop playback of my session.
I need to be able to play sessions that have RTAS plugs in place and have the Sync i/o up at the same time.
I had one reply to my recent post about the -2048 error then silence from Digi, a previous post in July on this same subject from another DUC member was met with resounding silence.
The numerous threads on the -6031 error are testament to the frustration of many users. The recently released DAE patch is pointless, you can't have RTAS plugs in a session with the Sync I/O up!?
I'm getting frustrated because these important topics are being lost in the sea of general read the manual type questions.
I'm not a Mac genius I'm just trying to get things rolling again and don't have hours to spare upgrading downgrading uploading sideloading smacking the damn things upside the head every 10 minutes. I read all the documents and the read me's and the late breaking facts, and the 6.x set up advice...but I need to know about basic set up bugs from you, like, I'm on 6.1 now but still using 10.2.3 should I upgrade? I have the 10.2.6 dmg ready to roll but I'm wary of messing things up more, will that upgrade fix my -2048 problem? Are there major bugs in 6.1 with regards to the Sync I/O and QuickTime video that you guys can't fathom out or fix? Why could I bounce all day in 6.0 but not in 6.1 blah blah...
I look forward to your comments, as does my wife who wonders why the hell I'm staring at this DUC instead of making money
Cheers
Doug

The Reason I use Protools is stability. I never had problems until protools 6. Last month I lost a take from a sax player because of a -6031. Hey, I just can NOT loose a take. G4, Mix Plus, PT 6.1, 10.2.6.

This is a very important matter!!!!!!!
I always believed that Pro Tool meant " Tools for Pros", under that assumption I can only conclude that if Digi has issues with their software or hardware they have to protect their Pro users from the down time of any sort. This is the focus point of almost every Pro software/hardware developer out there.
I hope I'm being clear here.

I agree absolutely. We have the same problem here and also some more.
I really would like to see an answer from Digi.

As a prospective buyer of the following: HD2 + Control24 + 2x192i/o's this thread is not giving me a warm, cosy feeling about a number of aspects of the Digidesign process. At the moment I'm a software tester for "the biggest" name in software and I'm having difficulty understanding why/how Digi have let this upgrade out the door when there seems to have been a major break in the code somewhere.

With the money I'm about to spend ($80K most of it on Digi gear) I need to be sure that the "Pro" hasn't been dropped from the Digi philosophy.

While I have no doubt regarding the quality of the Digi hardware (I've heard the 192io and think it's great) if the software side of things isn't functioning as expected then no amount of hardware is going to save that session with the customer looking over your shoulder wondering why he's paying you.

I think I'll hold off until I see a more thorough software QA process in the Digi camp.

I am having the dreaded -6031 issues as well.

I work with DVD's feautres and bonus features ... with this little bug, do you know how many times I get the error during Video/Audio capture to AVXL? I had one 15 min bonus piece that was captured in 17 segments because of 6031.

The problem is RANDOM !!!!

This is the most frustrating part, because I cannot make it reoccur when troubleshooting ... and trust me ... I've done everything DIGI has said ... the DAE fix is not a viable solution!!!

This issue needs to be resolved.

DIGI, please look at all these threads and the posts within them from intelligent, caring, hard-working, musicians, engineers, mixers and the like who make their money by not wasting time by sussing out RANDOM errors instead of getting their projects done on time.

I love ProTools, I would just love it better if it didn't make me pull my hair out.

Hi Doug! Sorry for what you are facing. But can´t you go back to 5.3 or even 5.1.1?

¡Hola Alécio!
En una palabra NO
I try to go forward not backwards, ordem e progresso but more progresso than order
Well I could go all the way back to Avid Audiovision(!), but really the furthest back I would go is 6.0. I need to get this fixed and fast, we in the post world rely on having solid frame locked sync, and we need to make bounces to movie and laybacks to tape all the time, it's really frustrating after finishing a job to not be able to get it off the computer! My only workaround right now is to bounce the audio down to a stereo pair, import that and the movie back into iMovie, sync it up again and export again as a QTime, so for a 40 minute show that's a big waste of time
Saludos
Doug
PS When are you coming to Madrid!?
