For example, like... many users have reported that Kontakt crashes PT while trying to load first library, so for those users Kontakt VI track count is zero.

Thanks for posting, and good to see the performance - but I do not think it is directly relevant to mixing with Pro Tools using stacks of 3rd party plugins under Rosetta 2....

My bad if I didn't directly say that.

But I did. Currently it is software that is limiting mixing possibilities and performance, not hardware.

Yup. What I am asking is direct experience from a user with an M1 MAX (OR PRO) MBP for heavy-duty mixing? So I can make an informed decision about buying such a machine for such a purpose.

Why do you need PRO/MAX hardware to confirm that certain plugins behave badly or do not work at all?

You are overcomplicating this by guessing what I need, rather than what I am asking.

MBP M1 MAX with Pro Tools for mixing, what is the CPU % lost by running under Rosetta 2 vs native?

If you've got a session you want me to try, I can compare:

Mac Pro 7.1 16-core 48GB on 10.15.7
with
16" MBP M1 Max 10/32 with 64GB on 12.0.1

I have RME Babyface and Avid Carbon. PT Std and PT Ultimate
So far in my PT tests, they both run about the same, but something (probably Monterey) fouls up the Avid Complete Bundle plugins, and I've had to take them all out.

I'm using PT 2021.10 on both but can try 2021.3 or .7 if you prefer.

You can't calculate the loss of Rosetta vs Native for PT, because you can only run under Rosetta on M1. And you can only run as Intel native on Intel.

Logic (which is of course native on the M1 Max) runs about the same number of channels at minimum buffer size on both platforms.

Yes, hopefully someone will answer you that once we have native PT software and native plugins. Currently it is not possible to answer that question.

My point was if you need badly behaving plugin, or one that crashes PT entirely, your system's real world performance sucks in mixing.

As you say (and I've edited my post) - no one knows. It isn't possible to compare.
