samson C01U - USB Condenser Microphone

hello, im running the demo version of protools le mpowered , and i have audiophile 2496...
my mic is a usb mic from samson

now, im trying to decide if wether to by the mbox two , or juss buy a mic wit fantom power...but heres the thing,

im trying to mess with protools but my mic is not found on protools...
i go to setups/hardware setup but its not there
I/O setup , not there either...
does anyone know how i can setup protools mpowered to work with my usb mic?

Hate to have to break this to ya; but, you cant. You need to use your M-Audio hardware (hence "M"-Powered). What you can do is get a different mic (such as the Samson C01 which is essentially the same thing as the CO1U just no USB) and a phantom power supply (Samson and Rolls both make fairly inexpensive ones) and run that into your 2496. That'll get you started. Enjoy.

Finally, someone with brains. Thanks, now i won't waste my precious time, when I already have better mics. I will use it as a direct mic into my Mac for audio file manipulations. Peace ma brotha
