7.4 LE Software on OSx 10.6.2??? Help!

Today I purchased a Mbox2 but I noticed that it has the 7.4 Protools software, I haven't installed it yet because I am afraid that the system would crash because I have OSx 10.6.2, will the installation disc advise me that I need to upgrade or will it crash? What should I do to upgrade? Please somebody help me! I am new in the PT world. =)

Did you buy it used? If you bought it new you should be eligible for a free upgrade to PT8..

If it's used then it will likely cost you $150 to get up and running..

Do not install it as it is not compatible with OSX 10.6.x. Register your software and you will be given an free upgrade email. This will allow you to go to your Digistore account and download Protools 8.0.3 which is compatible with Snow Leopard.

I just bought a new IMAC and loaded PT 7.X (for the drivers to run my M-Box 2 Mini with Logic Pro). PT 7.X crashes along with my other audio programs. I searched the Digi site but cannot seem to find any drivers. Does this mean I would have to purchase the PT 8 Upgrade or is there drivers available that I have missed?

I am afraid that we need to pay for the upgrade to fit to OSx 10.6.2!!

So you finally loaded 7.x to iMac 10.6.x, in my case what do you suggest? Shall I proceed with the installation and then, somehow, upgrade to 8.x? The upgrade is only possible if I have installed my LE old version in my iMac???
Please let me know your thoughts.

Protools 8.0.3 is a complete install and no previous version needs to be installed before.

I wouldn't bother loading PT 7.4 if it is going to crash your computer. I am going to Ebay my Mbox. I run Logic Pro so I will spend the money on a new interface instead of buying PT 8 for the drivers.

If you just need the 8.0.3 Core Audio Drivers for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) they are available here for FREE:

(Note: Uninstall your incompatible Pro Tools 7.x version then install just the above drivers to use your Mbox2 with other programs)

If you need to run Pro Tools LE on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) you need Pro Tools LE 8.0.3.. which is a paid upgrade if you purchased your system new before Oct. 3rd 2008.
