Default TT patch-bay recomendation?

What does everyone use & love?
What have you used and hate?
Would I be better with d-sub, solder, or push terminals (it's for a fixed install)????

Thanks in advance.

I use switchcraft bays and prefer solder points

I have some that have been used pretty hard and are still doing just fine!

I've used switchcrafts and ADCs. Both solid so far. If somebody else is doing the instal and it's relatively permanent, I'd say solder to elco, and custom elco cables to your gear.

If you'll be making frequent changes, or anticipate periodic major overhauls (i.e. home studio that gets moved from time to time) I'd use punch down bays. It's a hell of a lot easier to recycle or repurpose a punch down bay.

Elco is neater and takes less space, punch down can look messier and takes more space (on the back of the rack.) Punch down bays are of course more prone to failure, but if you tie your cables down tightly there should be no problem.
