Do we seriously not have any DJ's on the boards?
I find that hard to believe. |

Not a DJ, but think I know what you are trying to achieve.
There are loads of tools at your disposal in Pro Tools that can help get the sound you want - eq's limiter's compressor's etc. the basic plug in are more than adequate for what I think you need. Are you doing a live take of you remixes and recording straight to the host program - i.e. either audition or pro tools? If so, compression on the way in to the program would help. Neil.

Re: DJ\'s using Pro Tools for DJ purposes. (Promo CD\'s)
i do some djing but when i say dj its old school....i pretty much just play a variety of stuff from country to hip hop with no scratching other than scratching my head wondering what an old man like me is still doing in a bar at 2a.m.........one thing that i have done while djing that i use my pro tools for is playing and singing along with back up tracks that i record.......this has been an ongoing obsession with me for yrs using drum machines...sequencing and recorded audio tracks etc.....ive never been happy with it at anytime using a drum machine but i started doing it in pro tools using my own live drums and i like it much better and im not a great drummer by any means...my songs are simple rockabilly and country songs for the most part so its nothing too involved far as drums go usually...anyways thats what i do a cpl weekends a month........chas
