Default please help me convert/transfer songs onto CD

Can someone give me a quick run down on how I can convert my completed protools music project (song) into a format playable on a CDR. I want to take my completed song, burn it onto CDs and also send them out to people by Email. Thanks in advance!

some system specs:

MAC OS X 10.3.9
PROCESSOR - 1.2 GHZ POWER PC G4 (ibook)
MEMORY - 1.25 GB DDR SDRAM
1 Gig of Ram

MBOX 001
Protools 6.9
protools

if you haven't bounced to disk yet, that's your first step. you need to bounce the song as a stereo interleaved 16 bit aif file (be sure you've inserted dithering on the master fader as the last input).

i believe some people here are able to burn directly on their mac cdr drive -- my ibook doesn't have one, so i use an external firewire cd burner and have to put all my aif files into toast (a cd creation software package) and then toast burns the cd.

good luck.

presuming you're recording at 24 bit depth (or greater) and CDs are 16 bit, you should dither the file to get to 16 bit resolution (search "dither" in the duc, you'll get more info than you need ;-). dithering is especially important if you have quiet patches in your song.

on the master fader of your mix, insert "pow-R" dither as the last insert on that channel

good luck.
