Default 002 @ 96K on G4 Laptop... how many tracks?

Hi all -

Using an 002 @ 96K and a G4 laptop.... how many tracks can you play back simultaneously w/ a decent amount of plugs and edits?

Also... at 96K, how many simultaneous inputs can your record at one time? I.e. Can I get 16 track recorded at a time with an 002@96K?

-Tom

processor speed?
density of edits?
how much ram?
recording to what kind of drive?
which plug-ins?
version 5.3.2 or 6.0.2?

its kind of like saying "how fast does a car go?" i have a 500 mhz TiBook with 512 meg of ram, recording onto an external 7200 firewire drive.. i'll test it if you want.. I planned on doing a comparison when I get my upgrade cd.

Hi Stage -

Yes... please do test for us. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know.

I'm looking at one of these:

15.2-inch TFT Display
1280x854 resolution
1GHz PowerPC G4
1MB L3 cache
512MB SDRAM
60GB Ultra ATA/66
SuperDrive
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
64MB DDR video memory
Gigabit Ethernet
FireWire 400

Probably a FireWire drive, if it can handle it.

you'll need an external firewire drive to record on.. you probably won't get good system performance working on your internal drive..
