Default C 24 signal path (does this look right?)

May seem like an obvious question, but just for clarification.... I'm curious what the signal path is from instruments to the Control 24 and how the audio interfaces come into play. I have one 1622 and one 888.

Do the synth cables go to the inputs on the C24 and then into the 1622? By the same token, do the mic cables go to the mic pres on the C24 then to the 888? How do I patch in a compressor *before* going to disk? Do I monitor straight out of the C24, or do I have to go back through the 1622 (which I currently use to monitor)?

Thanks.

Ask Digidesign for the free DVD on the C24.
There is a C24 tour happening right now also.
The C24 is basically 16 preamps, 8 stereo submixer and analog talkback section on a contrl surface.

It's bound to have insert points. Crawling round the back hopping compressor inserts will get old REAL fast! There are enough i/o issues with your system to warrent getting a patch bay built. It will, however, rock, once you get the hang of it!

siderail, the mic pre inputs are on the back of the control 24. the outputs run via (2) db25 cables (8 channels on each) to your interface (1622 or whatever). the best way to patch outboard fx is by using a patchbay.
