Can't open session it's created with an older version of PT

i am sending a PT session created on a G5 with Pro Tools 8.0.1cs2

the guy on the other end has a macbook pro with pro tools 9 something.

he says he can't open the session because:

"it's created with an older version of PT..."

any reasons for this?

Hmm...No it should work the other way around... 9 should open everything created before... 8 Shouldn't open any 9 or greater sessions.

You should post the ptf file, see if one of us can open it, or if it's corrupt.

would be much appreciated if you could download just the session file and open it on a PT9 rig to see if it works.

the contents of the session is confidential, and would be good if you respect that but i understand that anything on the internet stays on the internet!

James you can't attach files on this forum but you can send me an e-mail through my profile page (Or just clicking on my username in the top of the post), and attach it to my reply - there will be no audio in the PTF file, so your secret is good with me.
