Default HELP: Video Sync/Spotting Issue

I'm having problems trying to place my video exactly on a marker in a Pro Tools session.
I'm running Pro Tools v7.2 on an HD2 system with sync I/O.
When importing DV movies, and trying to place them at my 2 minutes marker, it NEVER lets me place it right at 2 minutes and is always off by 646 samples. I'm in slip mode, but it almost feels as if it were respoding in grid mode.
It won't even work by placing my timeline insertion marker at exactly 2 minutes and control clicking on the video file to move it there.
In Pro Tools v6.9 we never had this issue and were able to move our video in single sample increments.
Is anyone else having this problem. Can anyone help?
Much appreciated.

Steven

How did you place your marker? By entering the timecode into the transport or by clicking your cursor into the edit window?

If it's the latter, then you probably should try to enter the timecode into the transport and then adding the marker. As otherwise your marker could be slightly off frame and therefore your video can't be spot on the marker.

Hope this helps.

Hey Timothy,
Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately this solution doesn't work. I created my marker by entering the Timecode into the transport and then creating the marker.
Any other solutions you can think of? I'm wondering if it's gotta do with version 7. I never had this problem when running v6.9
Thanks!

S

Maybe switch out of Slip mode, go into Grid mode and drag the region to your desired Timecode?
(and switch back to Slip mode)

But... this might be too simple thought...

you can only put video on a frame boundary.

can you detail your settings for us? pull down? locked to black? internal? wc? frame rate? drop? etc...
