Apple won't fix anything in Sonoma since they have moved onto Sequoia, so we'll likely skip Sonoma qualification. That being said, there is nothing that prevents Carbon from running on Sonoma.

We see frequent dropouts during cancellation tests, albeit they are typically only a sample or two. Unless you are looking for it, you may never see it or hear it, but it was outside the margin of error I felt comfortable with putting a stamp of approval on.

As far as Eucon goes, it is on my list of desires for Carbon, but I do not have a time frame for it.

While I have you, any progress on opening up the additional ADAT on the pre when using an expanded system? I finally got my carbon pre and Im hoping that at some point I can use its ADAT as well as the ADAT on my main carbon unit. :)

Re ADAT... similar, still on my to do list, but no time frame. Wish I could give you a more definitive timeline.

I receive the 'flashing power light of death' a few days ago. In the middle of playback it just died - turned off and never turned on again. I refunded the client and ended the session.

This is the second unit I've had die on me this way.

The first was within warranty so I didn't think much of it. Things happen. But this time, I'm out of warranty and the repair was quoted at $1,221. I see someone experiencing this issue just this past summer was quoted less than $900. That's nearly a 50% increase in less than 2 seasons. Symptoms exactly the same.

I love the functionality of the Carbon but this is going to be my third one in less than 4 years. I fear I will be paying multiple repair bills so long as my workflow depends on this unit.

Happened to me years ago on amps blowing on one outlet. But what was strange it only happened to amps, and nothing else. wiring was correct. I put in a surge protector and never had a problem since. DON'T FIGURE

The first unit blew while on a voltage regulator - Furman P-1800 AR.

I have since upgraded my room to a 30A balanced power & isolation transformer made by a fantastic tech/designer.

My power is rock solid over here. Not to mention, it was two different rooms.

Well the initial quote I received was for ~$1,100.00. A deposit was required to pay for “evaluation” before the unit was sent in. Non-refundable.

$853 + tax and shipping on top of the deposit. 90 day warranty on the repair.

I had planned to use it in “pre” mode, but had issues with CC and Sonoma, so went back to AMS and just using the replacement alone. Not a huge issue YET as my other mic pres are being used, but I’d love to get Apple and CC to work properly. Just saying.
