Default upgrading to pt 9 from 7.4.2le

hello...
im a little confused.. i;m upgrading to pt9 from 7.4.2le and i was a little lost..
do i just buy the crossgrade version... which is cheaper and do i need the need pace ilock smartkey with it??? as i all ready had one that came bundled with my 003.. its the big stupid looking green one.. or do i need the new ilock key??
and when i install pt9.. do i then update to the latest 9.0.5??
i'm installing snow leopard 10.6.3 as we speak and i will update to 10.6.8 as soon as its done..
what is confusing me is the ilock key thing?? because i dont think it ships with the crossgrade version..
oh and do i still get the 70odd plugins and instruments thats shipped with pt9 on the crossgrade version??

i tell ya this updating to pt9 is a costly business

You qualify for the crossgrade version because you own the 003, not because you have 7.4. When you buy and register the crossgrade version, you will need to put in the 003 serial number, found on the unit itself.

The crossgrade includes the full program installer, so no problem there. PT9 requires Ilok to run. Your existing one should work fine.

Be sure to do a complete uninstall of 7.4.

I recommend buying the download version, because the installers will always be in your account.

one more thing i need to ask as i'm not sure... you say a complete uninstall or pt7.4. does that include removing my plugins as well or doing only the recommended unistall that pro tools recommends.. will my plugins i have from 7.4 work with pt 9???
