Default problems with rosetta 800/002R

Yo people,

I have this problem with the R800 /002R

when i sent to ADAT 1-2 => reverb => aux (input ADAT 1-2) i get much less effect then if i route Analog 7-8 => reverb=> aux (input analog7-8)....

actually all signals going through R800 seem low..

what is the line level of outputs 5-8?
What am i doing wrong???

Sorry i'm just dutch.

Question Re: problems with rosetta 800/002R

Yo people,

i just found that when i patch through my behringer px 2000 patchbay's i lose a lot of signal. I patch all balanced. the patch bay is on 'open'...

When i hard wire the R800, it works perfectly, when i patch through the quick lok patchbay it works perfect aswell.

Am i stupid or are both the behringers broken or is there something else going on...

Any help please

It sounds like there's something wrong with the patchbay...have you checked the manual to see if it might offer up any clues?

Hi digi,

i asked behringer... have to wait a bit...

I'm afraid it should be unballanced ....

Could that be the problem??
I thought patching balanced is preferable.(?)

That's not what i like...

Hi Digi and others,

Please help...

Will the Neutrik NYS-SPP-L1 do the job???

I patch balanced and 'open'...

Put inputs and outputs in the back and patch at the front.
'straight through' Patch...

Thanx

If the loss you're experiencing is because you're going from balanced to balanced connections then, yes, the Neutrik will help, as it's a balanced patch bay, while the Behringer is not.

Well, given that you said:

That would seem you're having problems with digital signals as well, which would be unaffected by your patch bay.

Until we know exactly what the problem is, it's difficult to give an absolute solution.

Going from balanced to unbalanced will reduce signal levels by 6db - is that what you're seeing? If you can quantify it, we'll have a better handle on what to do.

As for digital levels - what are you seeing there, exactly?

You should probably use test tones and get meter readings so we know what we're seeing on the input and output of each device.

Hi,

I start again to explain cause i think it's not clear

1. for the example we take a piano with 2 microphones.
2. The mics are going to the tubetech inputs
3. The Tubetech outputs go to the patchbay (backside)
4. the patch is on 'open'
5. The apogee rosetta 800 is on another patch bay and the tubetech out is
patched ( at the frontside) to the apogee in.

I get bad signal.

Other example:
1. i have a piano recorded on a stereo channel.
2. i make an send on this track to ADAT 1-2
3. On a aux track i make input ADAT 1-2
4. On the patchbay the apogee rosetta 800 Out is patched to the lexicon mpx550 in and vise versa.

when i put the send up it gives some reverb. But when i leave the patch bay out (hard wire) i get full reverb as it should be.

All cables are balanced and i clock to ADAT.

it seems to be this 6db reduction cause of balanced and unbalanced patchbay's.

How can i be more specific?

Thanx

Tuur
