Is there a way to continue using PT once I lose my internet connection?
I'm boarding at a college where the campus wifi shuts off at 10:30 every night. When this happens, I'm notified by PT that they 'could not connect to iLok' and that my license can't be verified. I have no other form of internet access - it's incredibly irritating having to stop working on my session as soon as the clock turns 10:30. Could anyone please help?
Many thanks |

Re: Is there a way to continue using PT once I lose my internet connection?
Are you using Pro Tools | First? If so, I think you should be able to save your project locally, but you'd have to turn off "Backup to cloud": https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...ro-Tools-First
If you have full Pro Tools, you must be using iLok Cloud? If that is the case, move your license to a physical iLok. Joel

Yes to using a physical iLok. Next thing would be to create "sessions" instead of "projects". A session lives on your local hard drive(hoping your local hard drive is suitable for recording), while a project lives in the cloud(exactly what you DON'T want)

Re: Is there a way to continue using PT once I lose my internet connection?
A Pro Tools First license would either be on an iLok or the computer, so WiFi status shouldn't affect that. Pro Tools using iLok Cloud would be interrupted if you lose your internet connection, so activating the license to an iLok USB Key would be best in that scenario.
And to clarify... Projects are stored on your computer's drive (in a folder for your Avid account in Documents > Pro Tools > Project Cache). That's where they are created and what you are using when working with the Project. There is an option for Backup To Cloud that makes a copy of the Project in your Avid cloud, but the working copy is local.
