Unhappy Having Really Odd Issues lately with 11R

I purchased my 11R early 2010 and had some problems with it. Long story short, I'm on my fourth 11R from Digidesign, or Avid, and the one I have currently, which has been intermittent with minor issues the past year, is now flickering on the display whenever I record anything in Pro Tools (8.0.5). In other words, if I'm noodling around, it's fine. When I'm in the middle of recording, it's fine. But when I press stop following a recording, the display flickers. I noticed this happens only in Pro Tools. My primary DAW is Cubase 6 and it doesn't do this.

Also, I was flipping through the rigs yesterday and noticed one of the rigs I use often had some graphical glitches and the button that normally says "bright" on some amps said "D'oh." Weird.

I also get display glitches on my 11r from time to time. It usually happens if I'm switching quickly between pages, or if I turn a knob while an on/off status is on the screen. It never affects the performance but it does look funny until I switch to another page/patch/view.

Long-time-lurker here ... first Eleven Rack post having just received my unit, very much influenced by this great community.

Only had a chance to quickly browse/tweak the presets ... and (like others before) smiled throughout! However, a couple of questions for my peace of mind:

(i) Is it 'normal' to get display glitches when quickly scrolling around presets on the main screen ... occasional half dial icons, random dots/lines, etc.? These usually disappear when the display 'catches up' with the selection.

(ii) Some control knobs/pots (below the display) don't rotate completely smoothly all the way around - do these loosen up?

Many thanks for any feedback!

... any feedback, especially on the display issue, really appreciated!

+1 if you've experienced this, -1 if not?!

+1, happens from time to time.

I expect it flickers after recording because it's storing the patch information so you can call it up later.

Thanks Aaron - do you notice glitches sometimes as you scroll back and forth quickly when using your ER standalone? Rest of you? ... I know you're there :)

Yes. This happens a lot on the 11R screen (the actual screen on the unit itself)

some times when scrolling fast and stopping the UI is totally jumbled, but its all fixed by scrolling off the patch and then go back.

Cheers Benoni.

I was hoping you would chime in - now I can relax and get on with the fun!

Do you think the control knobs/pots could loosen up?

P.S. - thanks for all the input here + on Youtube!

Do you mean the actual physical knobs or the virtual knobs?

If the physical knobs, I have no idea, I would have to see it in person to get a feel for what you mean.

If you mean the virtual knobs then you probably need to change the setting in Knob Action.

The 6 physical control knobs below the ER display. A few rotate consistently smooth/free all the way around. Others stiffen up slightly around 0/min and/or 10/max or around the mid-point.

I happened to watch your video on knob setings yesterday. :)
