Default Monitors Controller

Hi all,
I currently have a Drawmer mc2 controller for two sets of monitors.

I need to add a 3 rd pair, does anyone have an idea on a splitter I can insert to get a third pair going?

Thanks in advance.
😊

You have a CMC2 or a MC2.1? The later has three outputs.

But why would you want a "splitter"? How is that going to help you? Don't you want a three output monitor controller?

Yes

I want a 3 pair controller, I have the 2 pair.

I didn’t really want to change the whole unit , I was just wondering if I could go from the outs ( 1 pair) into a seperate splitter to switch between 2 sets.
Ie. A - mains, B - splitter between Set B and set C.

I can set B and C at the same volume controlled by my main monitor controller. E

You are asking about adding a monitor switcher or "A/B box" not something I'd call a "splitter".

You need to buy a decent stereo A/B box that's not going to blow up you speakers, has nice soft switching/muting etc. and by the time you do that you might as well just buy a new monitor controller.

Presumably you have three monitor pairs there because you need them, they are offering good value to you, and you will want/need to be able to switch easily between them with calibrated levels... so don't faff around and just get a good monitor controller. If you like the MCM2 you have now then get a MC2.1, they are ~US$700, more in oz, but not super expensive and likely money well spent, and you get to sell or repurpose what you have now.

Personally, if you don't need surround, then the Audient Nero would be tops of a short list(and you can sell the drawmer to recoup much of the cost of the new unit) As said, adding another device seems like a kludge(to me as well). I use a Presonus Central Station and it works okay(not perfect, but fine for my needs). If I were to replace it today, Nero would be my choice(though I might cut a hole in the top of my desk so all the cables are hidden)

I’m not sure many people know what a “kludge” is, especially the young ones!

Something like this. Not familiar with Australian dealers. Look for Speaker Switcher or Selector.
