Great news, but it sounds like a release to be cautious of if you depend on your setup for work.

The article references 2022.9 as being done and Silicon is next! But Avid just released 2022.10 with no Silicon support and the Hybrid ADC is still not fixed.
Also if its an "Alpha" it would mean a couple of months for beta and ready for release in about 6-12 months

Yeah I understand alpha. It will be probably months before we see it - but the wheels are finally in serious motion

AVID said focus is on providing a native apple silicon release in "the near future".

2022.10 was a necessary bug fix release because 2022.9 was kind of a dumpster fire.

The takeaway is Apple Silicon version will be the next big feature we see in Pro Tools. But there could still be maintenance releases between then and now.

This is great news! I won't expect it before 2023, and likely wouldn't update until the 2nd iteration, but it's promising knowing that they're already in Alpha.

Agree.
I probably won't upgrade for at least a year.

Yea. I figure at least one year, and then; maybe we begin to see 3nm chips in macs. (See blue line in my signature.)

I am becoming old. I still remember how super impressive it was to get below 150nm process.
