Default Re: Tech Support, can you help me with my Firewire 1814?

I moved my Digi-approved firewire card to a different port on the motherboard, and I'm still having the same problems that I had before.

When I built my computer, I used the "Best Desktops for Pro Tools LE" post (that's back when I had an MBox). I had an on-bard firewire port, and I guess it wasn't Digi-approved, but now I have one that is, and I'm not sure what to do next.

When my Firewire 1814 is turned off, of course I have no issues with my computer. When it's turned on, and especially when I'm using Pro Tools, the Firewire 1814 is very unstable.

I'm running out of things to troubleshoot. No matter what I try, the same problem keeps occuring. What should I do next??!

Thanks for your help.

Jason

get an IDE or SATA hard drive - even if it is a small one - just make sure it is 7200rpm.
try that and see how it works.

How long ago did you get your 1814? You may want to consider seeing if you can borrow another 1814, or take yours to someone else, so you can test to see if it may be the unit or if the problem is specific to your computer.
