I haven’t used the freeze track function in the past - what are the thoughts of keeping a track frozen during the final mix-bounce?

Is there a downside to this?

Thanks

I wrote freeze but meant commit. I don't commit (or freeze) during final mixes, or at any point, unless in a scenario mentioned above where round-robins aren't behaving.

Thanks Eric Lambert.

So I'm thinking that maybe freezing a track would work for me in the mix/production stages because if I needed to make a change - I could un-freeze the track and edit the sound. From what I read in the manual today - it sounds like I can still make volume changes while the track is frozen... (will try this - this afternoon)

If I commit a track during the early stages - I would have to either re-commit or re-record the track each time.

Then at the final bounce - I would just un-freeze the tracks - and all should be well?

Does this sound like I am understanding this?

Thanks

Sparky
